Boston Harbor Islands Oystercatchers and Windmills
Hingham, Massachusetts
Did you know that American Oystercatchers and Glossy Ibis hang out in Boston Harbor? Did you know that Boston Harbor is almost 50 miles across? Did you know that the Boston Harbor Light was the last lighthouse in the US to be automated? If not, or even if you do, come out with us and learn about this remarkable place. We will launch from Hingham Harbor and explore along World’s End and in the Boston Harbor Islands National Park, looking for wild grapes and red tailed hawks as we go. After a relaxing beach break, we can view the Nantasket windmill and discuss some of the historical, development and pollution pressures bearing on Boston Harbor.
